EVEREST BASE CAMP
THE MOST LEGENDARY TRIP IN NEPAL
In 1953, Tenzing Norgay and Sir Edmund Hillary reached the highest summit on Earth. We all know that. But a lot of people don’t know what happened before that date so the fellas Tenzing and Edmund were able to reach this feat. During the first half of the XX century, a lot of expeditions from diferent countries went across the whole Nepal. Searching for glory, most of them. Trying to find routes to move troops, the most. So the Everest Base Camp trek was born.
Nepal has already lifted the quarantine for vaccinated travelers. We have reduced the maximum group from 15 to 12, just in case. But, if you have more doubts, you can check our Covid measurments page. Anyway, the next spring we’ll be back at Nepal, unless everything changes a lot.
IT’S NOT LIKE CLIMBING THE EVEREST
Of course not. You already knew that, for sure. But there’s a lot of people who don’t know that. Everest is almost 9000 meters high. Everest Base Camp is 5365 meters. Climbing the Everest costs 25.000 euros or more. Coming with us to the Base Camp, thousand odd. It takes a month and a half to summit Everest. In 17 days you will have flown to Kathmandu, trekked to the Everest Base Camp and you will be back home.
Of course it’s not the same. Only supermachines climb the Everest and some of them die. For those of us who are not demigods, but healthy and little bit fit, the trek is enough challenge. Up there breathing is difficult. The days are long. But, with a little training, 99% of our expedition fellows made it to the summit of Kala Pattar (5545 m.). With a good support, most of us can make it. I can assure you that the sun rising over Everest is an image that you will never forget.

EVEREST BASE CAMP TREK
Everest Base Camp Trek is 140 kms. The adventure starts with the small plane that carries you to Lukla. They say that is the most dangerous airport in the world, but, truth is that the best pilots are flying there. I can tell you that it’s astonishing. When you land, you realize that it’s a parallel universe. From there to the summit there are no motor vehicles From there to the summit animals are not slaughtered. From there to the summit is sacred territory. From there to the summit there’s less and less oxygen.
The trek goes through all kind of scenery. You are not expecting some of them. When we think about Everest, we think about stone and ice. But it’s not like that Till 4000 meters, the trek goes through woods, rivers and some sections look like Rivendel. Bushes and musk will share your way between 4000 and 5000. From there, yes. There’s no life. Well, there are some purple little flowers, but not much more.

PRE BOOKING
Of course, we don’t know if we will be able to travel to Nepal in Spring. Nobody knows. But we think we do. That’s why we are betting. If you do your booking now, we will discount you 50 euros. If after all we can no travel (or you don’t want to), we will refund you your money. No questions. We have called it Pre-Booking, because we have to name everything, but it’s an actual booking, only with a bet. And seats are limited,
If you still have doubts, take a look to our expedition in 2018. If you still have doubts, go HERE and book a videocall with Edu, our director, who knows the trek very well, and will be able to answer all your questions.
